Lyme Disease 101
ILADEF, alongside our sister organization, the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS), devotes its efforts to increasing the level of understanding and expertise on Lyme and associated diseases within the medical community. These efforts are all in service of the larger goal: improving the care and lives of patients with tick-borne infections. ILADS members are dedicated to using the best scientific evidence and clinical expertise. By informing patients of their choices, and taking into account a patient’s values and preferences, ILADS clinicians practice shared decision-making to arrive at an individualized management plan. Informed patients are better able to participate in their care.
We designed our Lyme Disease 101 materials to equip any patient, or member of the media or public, with the basic facts about Lyme disease and Lyme care.
